Limerick poetry
The next type of poetry in our installment is Limerick. Hopefully at this point your students are learning how much fun poetry can be. It's not just for sappy love birds!
Venus
The next planet on our list, Venus. Once again, I have an easy version and a tougher version for the older kids.
Mercury
I am starting a new project for science. The kids not only made the solar system hats, but now are learning all about each planet. They will have their own little booklet by the end. I also have included some videos the kids can watch about Mercury:

6s Multiplication Maze

Diamante poetry
Here is another type of poetry for you. By now, you should have quite the list of poetry written by your little one(s). Maybe even enough for your own little book to share with family and friends.
Cinquain poetry
This is a fun type of poetry that is really easy to get creative with and doesn't take much time. I like to encourage my kids to think outside the box on this and see how original they can get.
Multiplication search 7's
This is another fun way to practice multiplication as well as practicing paying attention to detail. It is just like a word search but with numbers. You simply find a multiplication problem with the answer. For example, 7x3=21 would look like 7 3 2 1. There should be one problem for 7 times each number 0-9. An answer key is included for easy checking
Sonnet
Here is another type of poetry for you. Hopefully your students are getting a pretty good idea of different types of poetry by now and don't expect them to all be the same. At this point, you can start quizzing them on new words they have learned through studying poetry.

7's multiplication math maze
My kids love to do mazes. I find they are more likely to do extra math if they have mazes to do. It makes math practice more fun. Here is a math maze for you made by my 10 yr old daughter. It comes with an answer key so you can either have the kids check their work or you can check it without having to try to remember your 7s.

Ballad Poetry
Ballads are so much fun to learn. Kids can let their imaginations go wild and often you get to see parts of the kids you don't get to see any other way. They can get so creative and they tend to really enjoy sharing their work with anybody willing to listen.
Haiku Poetry
My 8 year old daughters favorite thing to study is poetry. She studies it everyday and never seems to tire of it. These worksheets help to teach that poetry is more than just writing rhyming words. Haiku is a pretty basic, easy to learn form of poetry. It's a great place to start for beginners that may struggle in knowing what to write about.
